Dog Beaches on the Brescia Side

Fido BeachManerba del Garda
A fenced, dog-friendly beach with umbrellas and sunbeds for rent. Access is free, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Located west of the Rio d’Avigo, it’s managed by a local dog training center and often visited by German tourists (Fido Beach Gardasee). Sometimes they offer special services and activities for pets.

Bau Beach – Toscolano Maderno
A free beach near the Cartiera (paper mill museum). It offers clear water, natural shade, and a kiosk nearby. There are also water fountains and a play area for both dogs and kids.

Dog Beach – Salò (Via Tavine)
An unfenced, informal stretch of lakeshore located just after Mokai Beach, near the cemetery. This approximately 500 m² public area allows dogs to swim freely and is equipped with water fountains, waste bins and benches  . No formal services (like umbrellas or lifeguards) are provided and it remains open all day, every day . Local dog owners love bringing their pets here for a quick splash in the morning or evening.

Moniga del Garda
Dogs are allowed on two stretches of free beach: Via Mazzane next to the harbour, and Via Preara near Camping Fontanelle. Signage may change, so always check on site.

Desenzano – Between Spiaggia d’Oro and Porto di Rivoltella
An informal stretch of beach where dogs are allowed to swim. Not equipped, but convenient if you’re staying in town.

Gargnano – Viale Rimembranza
The only beach in Gargnano where dogs are explicitly allowed. It’s near Palazzo Feltrinelli and is both central and peaceful.

Dog Beaches on the Verona Side

Braccobaldo Bau Beach – Peschiera del Garda
A well-equipped, dog-friendly beach in Località Fornaci. It includes fenced areas, dog showers, bowls, sunbeds (even for your dog), and shaded zones. Booking is recommended in high season.

Between Garda and Bardolino
There is a natural, wild stretch of free beach where dogs are usually allowed, especially in quieter times.

Torri del Benaco – Road to Pai and Garda
Along the lakeside road, you’ll find small beaches where dogs are welcome as long as they don’t disturb others. These are unofficial spots, so use discretion.

Lazise – Near the municipal campsite
Dogs are generally allowed on the beach near the campsite, as long as they don’t cause complaints. Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times.

Dog-Friendly Spots in Trentino and Lake Ledro

Pur Beach – Lake Ledro
Located in Via Val Maria 175, this fenced beach has a dog-dedicated area, waste bag dispensers and direct lake access. A cool, quiet option in summer.

Sarca Bau Beach – Arco
Not technically a beach, but a fenced green area along the Sarca River where dogs can splash and play. Open year-round, close to the bike path in Via Pomerio.

🐶 Tips for a Safe & Pleasant Beach Day at Lake Garda with Your Dog

Planning a lakeside day with your dog? Keep these essentials in mind for a relaxed, safe, and respectful experience:

💧 Fresh water & a bowl – Always bring plenty of fresh water and a portable bowl to keep your dog hydrated.

💩 Waste bags – Be a responsible owner and always clean up after your dog, so the shore stays pleasant for everyone.

☀️ Avoid peak heat – Lake Garda can get very hot in summer. Avoid the hottest hours of the day, usually between 12:00 and 16:00, to protect your dog from overheating and hot surfaces.

📍 Check local signs – Rules can vary from one municipality to another, so always read the official signs when you arrive.

📅 Know the season – From June to September, some areas may require dogs to stay on a leash or allow access only to designated dog beaches. In the quieter months, rules are often more relaxed.

🦮 Leash & muzzle – A leash is often required in public areas, and while a muzzle is not always enforced, it is recommended to carry one — especially if you plan to use public transport or access busier spots.

🏖️ Towel & shade – Bring a towel for drying off after a swim and some form of shade, such as a beach umbrella, to help your dog stay comfortable.
